Lot 1144		1928 Hawaiian Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-65. Deep mottled toning with vivid hues of russet, rose and sea-green. In an old green label holder. A beautiful specimen, a solid Gem! Only 10,008 1928 "Captain Cook" Half Dollars (as collectors from our fiftieth state prefer to call them) were coined; of these, many, many found a home in change purses or curiosity boxes, they being, for the most part, sold to non-collectors in the islands. Once in the public's hands many got banged about and abraded. To this day, well-toned About Uncirculated specimens turn up regularly at coin stores in Honolulu. Lot 1146		1928 Hawaiian Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-64. Lovely multi-color toning on both sides. A frosty to satiny pale example with smooth cartwheel luster on both sides. Nicely struck as well, with just outstanding detail on both Cook's portrait and the standing figure on the reverse. The beautiful toning truly makes this coin glow! (PCGS # 9309) . Lot 1148		1935 Hudson Half Dollar. PCGS graded MS-66. Lovely rainbow toning on both sides. There is little to say about the surfaces of this Gemmy coin as they are as near to perfect as imaginable. The mint frost is thick and radiates smoothly over each side. The patina glows. Fully struck in some areas with pinpoint detailing, but some unconvincing roundness here and there, including the top part of the scroll's motto as well as Neptune's features. Lot 1152		1915-S Panama-Pacific Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-64 PQ. A spectacular toned specimen that undoubtedly was plucked from a cased set. The obverse exhibits "bull's eye" toning of deep turquoise with hints of violet and a white center, while the reverse is mostly white with a ring of iridescent blue. Lot 1160		1925 Stone Mountain Half Dollar. NGC graded MS-66. Deep mottled multi color toning on both sides. The silvery luster underneath the color twirls with a somewhat satin texture. Desirable with this exact strike, even though we need to point out some examples show signs of weakness in the central regions, this coin is a brilliant exception to that rule.
